How to use this tool
- Choose an unencrypted PDF up to 10 MB. Enter page positions starting at 1, such as 2 or 2,4-6.
- Run the tool and check the original, removed and retained page counts. Review the first retained page preview.
- Download the edited PDF and inspect every retained page. Save the JSON selection report if you need the complete page-number list.
Check the built-in example
The fictional sample contains three pages labeled FIRST RETAINED PAGE, SECOND REMOVED PAGE and THIRD RETAINED PAGE. Removing page 2 creates a two-page PDF. Its first page retains FIRST RETAINED PAGE and its second retains THIRD RETAINED PAGE. The report lists removed:[2] and kept:[1,3]. The preview shows only the first retained page; it is not a full review of the exported document.
Processing method
The selection parser expands inclusive ranges, rejects positions outside the input document and removes duplicate selections. For example, 2,2,4-5 selects three pages rather than four. pdf-lib copies the retained pages into a new PDF in source order. Existing text and vector drawing content are copied without deliberately rasterizing the document. PDF.js renders the first retained page for a local preview. The linked API describes page copying; it does not promise preservation of every document-level feature.

What the result leaves out
Input is limited to 10 MB and 1,000 pages, with a 20-second worker timeout. A selection string may contain up to 2,000 characters. At least one page must remain. Encrypted files and interactive PDF forms are rejected. Bookmarks and digital signatures are not preserved, and links or other annotations are not verified. The tool does not reorder pages, merge documents or perform secure redaction. Shared objects or remaining pages may retain information; removing a visible page is not proof that sensitive information has been erased. Check the output in a PDF viewer before distributing it.
Checking local processing
The browser reads the selected file locally and creates the edited copy without uploading the original. Its PDF libraries are served from this website. Inspect Network after loading the page and run the sample to check that file content is not posted to a service. Cancel stops active worker processing. Reset clears the file selection and current result. Saved PDFs and JSON reports remain on your device.
Common questions
Are the numbers printed on a page used for selection?
No. Use positions in the PDF, starting with 1, even if printed labels use Roman numerals or different numbering.
Can I remove every page?
No. The result must retain at least one page.
Does deleting pages securely erase confidential content?
No. This is page-list editing, not secure redaction or a forensic sanitization process.
